MINERVA BC NEWMAN
CEBU CITY – Nine towns of Cebu districts 6 and 2 set up their exhibit and display booths at the Robinsons Galleria on June 25 to 27 showcasing an array of each town’s delicacies, tourist spots, handicrafts and other interesting products and services to cap this year’s last leg of collaboration and partnership between the Province of Cebu and Robinsons Galleria dubbed as R’ Cebu! to spark the reopening of Cebu’s economy amid the pandemic.
On June 25 to 27, the towns of Argao, Alcoy, Boljoon, Consolacion, Cordova, Dalaguete, Oslob, Samboan, and Santander and the City of Mandaue are expected to highlight their most sought-after products at the Atrium, Level 1 of Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Get to experience Cebu in three days this weekend with “R’ Cebu!”, the project of Robinsons Galleria Cebu in partnership with Cebu Provincial Government which aims to promote the products of local farmers, fishermen, artisans, and small business owners.
“This is the final leg of “R’ Cebu!” and it was
quite a journey, it was a bold move because exhibits were a memory of the past,
this was unheard of during the pandemic. A mall and LGU coordination to come up
with R’ Cebu to be able to do this to recover our economy,” Cebu governor Gwen
Garcia said in her message during the event opening Friday.
Garcia said that R’ Cebu is a showcase that Cebu knows how to address the problem. She said that there are more people suffering from lack of income, livelihood and food than those suffering or dying from COVID-19.
She added that Cebu is the only province standing amid the pandemic that started to reopen its economy. “Cebu is the standing light for the rest of the country to follow. We have moved on and moved forward, surely the rest of the country, Cebu has become number 1 again,” Garcia said.
An array of delicacies, tourist spots, handicrafts, and other offerings from Districts 2 & 6 are being showcased. Get ready to haul the following products: Alcoy’s thick Cocoa drink or Sikwate; Argao’s must-have torta; Squash Pancit Canton of Boljoon, the new party staple.
Pasteurized fresh milk to complement Hopia de Cebu from Consolacion; Cordova’s Spicy Sukarap vinegar which perfectly goes along with Boneless Danggit; Dalaguete’ fresh produce are also added to the list.
The famous Didang’s Masareal and crispy Tagaktak from Mandaue; Creamy Porbida of Oslob; Durable native woodcraft from Samboan and One of the kind local Cranberry Concentrate from Santander are also found at the display/exhibit area.
