YSEALI re-launches its Cebu Hub at USC Main Campus

Cebu City – The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Central Visayas re-launched on March 16, its Cebu Hub located at the American Corner, USC Main Campus, in Cebu City, reigniting the passion for leadership and collaboration among young leaders in Cebu and across the Philippines.

YSEALI, initiated by the U.S. government focuses on strengthening leadership development and networking among young people in Southeast Asia via its various programs and initiatives to empower and connect young leaders in the region to foster collaboration on key issues affecting Southeast Asia.

“Our YSEALI alumni consistently demonstrate exceptional leadership skills everywhere we go, with whatever we do. With the unwavering support of the US Embassy in the Philippines and YSEALI Philippines, we commit to reigniting the passion and commitment of our alumni and stakeholders in amplifying our impacts and sustaining a reliable network of Sugbo-cates or Cebu Advocates," YSEALI Cebu Hub Co-Lead, Angelica Añabeza said.

Añabeza, in her opening message during the event added that YSEALI’s collective focus is to magnify its impact across the province and throughout Central Visayas as a testament to its dedication to transformative leadership, supported by international collaboration.

The re-launching of the YSEALI Cebu Hub aims to provide Cebuano young leaders with opportunities to thrive and make a difference in their communities.  The individuals spearheading the revival of the Hub are diverse young leaders who themselves have been recipients of grants, regional workshops, and fellowships, including academic and professional exposure in the United States.

The goal is to encourage more Cebuano leaders to take part and amplify their impact.  Mobilize leaders across the province for impactful collaborations and projects and call for volunteers to join as YSEALI Cebu Advocates (Cebu Sugbo-cates) and be part of its vibrant network.

Another goal is to provide support and mentorship to young leaders and showcase the power of the YEASLI community.  The re-launch event featured informative discussions, networking opportunities, and insights into the initiatives and opportunities provided by YSEALI.
