CEBU CITY – Mezzo Hotel located at F. Cabahug St., Mabolo, Cebu City to embark an “Adopt-A-Community” project with Barangay Kasambagan and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-7) in a tripartite agreement signed on May 16 at the Venice Hall, Mezzo Hotel as part of the its responsible corporate citizen service to give back to the community where it operates.
“Our goal is to create a sustainable impact on the lives of the people in the community by empowering them through livelihood programs and initiatives beginning with commercial cooking training,” Mezzo Hotel president, Shannen Tan told the media in a press briefing and MOA signing event on Tuesday.
Under the MOA, the first series of training are for commercial cooking where the Chefs of Mezzo Hotel are going to train selected residents of Barangay Kasambagan who are members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Regional Field Office VII that would also identify and select the participants for the training.
Also, one of the highlights of the event was the introduction of Mezzo Hotel CSV Core Team that would primarily take charge of the community efforts.
“We are very happy for this MOA signing for giving
livelihood skills for barangay residents especially those members of the 4Ps
because we have seen how important livelihoods are to the marginalized
especially after two years of pandemic,” Kasambagan Punong Barangay, Franklin
Ong said in his message during the MOA signing.

welcomed this project and hopes that this partnership is not only the start but
a model for Cebu City for all the barangays and business establishments to
collaborate for projects such as these.
“It is an honor to join the
cause of the Mezzo hotel as this will serve as inspiration to other barangays and
business sector to collaborate. DSWD7 ensures that the marginalized are
attended to,” Lucero said.
