CEBU CITY – "Cebu 'ta bai!” The business sector’s call to challenge everyone to help put Cebu in the global map as the prime destination for tourism, new industries and more investments as the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) officially launched the 2023 Cebu Business Months (CBM) program with the theme "Cebu 'ta bai – Moving Forward. Shaping the Future.”
"CBM's approach this year is to showcase Cebu on the global arena as we embrace the digital age and continue promoting Cebu's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), raising awareness of our vibrant food culture and destinations, and nurturing the talents of our creative artists for our tomorrow," CBM 2023 Overall Chairman John Paul Chiongbian told media and content creators, in a press conference on May 25 at CAVA Restaurant in Lahug, Cebu City.
Chiongbian bared that as local businesses are bouncing back on a steep curve, this year's CBM highlights the advantages and capabilities of Cebu as a global player in business and tourism with the wide of activities during the months-long CBM that also spotlight on Cebu's resilience, distinctiveness, and adaptability to changing situations.
Chiongbian added that the theme “Cebu ta Bai” means business sector is pushing Cebu to move forward and or leapfrog with technology, not only with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) but with the cornerstone of entrepreneurship, tourism and creative entertainment as growth drivers for Cebu’s total economic recovery.
Francis Dy, vice-president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in his opening message said that this year’s CBM is exceptional to promote the business sector’s optimism that all events and activities are impactful.
“To spur business and with this year’s theme
highlighting Cebu’s resilience, CCCI and CBM created team champions in
promoting the best of Cebu in Tourism, Entrepreneurship, Technology and
Creative Entertainment,” Dy said.
CBM has become a platform for development of Cebu City in terms of CBM events and other activities creating a higher purpose to make a better Cebu for everyone. “Cebu ‘ta Bai” is actually the bigger challenge on how to put the CBM events into contents to encourage every Cebuano to come and join to support all the programs.
