PRA, GCS organizers host more webinar series at Great Cebu Sale

CEBU CITY -- The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA)-Cebu Chapter and organizers of the Great Cebu Sale  are set to host various webinars series to help guide businesses, retailers and consumers in the new normal as part of the events during the Great Cebu Sale (GCS) 2020 from September to October this year.

 To date, GCS has generated more than 5,600 visitors and counting  at its website www.thegreatcebusale.com with nearly 100 merchants, this could increase because GCS is still accepting sellers/merchants until mid-October.  Organizers are expecting up to 20 percent increase in sales of individual merchants joining the virtual sale event.


According to GCS chairperson Camille Aldeguer that Great Cebu Sale has successfully conducted the first part of the webinar series entitled “Rethinking our Business and Repurposing our Facilities for Survival and Sustenance #Diskarte” on Sept. 28 and 29 with the Rockstar Trainer and Resource Speaker of the Philippines Francisco Dela Cruz.

A total of 60 participants joined the Sept. 28-29 webinar that included the following companies: Pillows Hotel, Rusem International, Cebu Hilltop Hotel, MJ Hotel and Suites, Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino, Shangri-La, Basic Graphics Inc., Cebu Hotel Plus, Cebu Grand Hotel, Cebu Palm Grass Hotel, Island Souvenirs, Cebu Parklane International Hotel, Quest Hotel and Conference Center Cebu, HRRAC, Anjo World Theme Park, Laguna Group, WeeDoo, Mi Department Store, Hyundai Cebu Inc., One Central Hotel & Suites Corp., Kandaya Resort, Expressions Stationery Shop Inc., Amethyst Boutique Hotel Cebu, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, Goldberry Suites & Hotel, Cebu Primera Food Industries Inc., SM Consolacion, Mang Tinapay and HRRAC CGM Hotel Consultancy.


“It should be a welcome development for hotels who have functions, however mass gatherings are still prohibited”, PRA President-Cebu Chapter Chester Lim said.

·       GCS will also host a webinar on “Leading by Emotional Intelligence with Stressed-out Workforce and Anxious Guests and Customers.” On Oct. 19 and 20.

The webinar series will be conducted by The Rockstar Trainer and Resource Speaker of the Philippines - Francisco Dela Cruz. Mr. Dela Cruz who hailed from Bocaue, Bulacan is a retailer, a hotelier, a trainer, a leader, an influencer, and a guest-&-customer experience champion.

He is a Certified Leader by Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) in London; and a Certified Competency Developer by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in Canada.

He has a total of 35 years working experience, and from this, 17 years were spent abroad- in different countries in the Middle East, where, among other various roles, he used to be the Hospitality Training Manager of Sheraton Hotel in Kuwait – a 5-Star Luxury Collection Hotel.

He was a Retail Training Manager of Alshaya Retail Group in the Middle East, operating in 19 countries, with more than 2,500 stores and 110 nationalities. 


GCS chair Camille Aldeguer that GCS will also be tapping a group of EventOrganizers and Wedding Planners for a possible collaboration with the Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants to bring in more guests to hold events and functions.
