MINERVA BC NEWMAN

CEBU CITY-- The Land Transportation Office (LTO-7) Malasakit Service Center officially started its operations on February 19 to cater to the licensing services for the special sector including senior citizens, persons with disability, pregnant women, nursing women, lactating mothers, and OFWs.

LTO-7 regional director Victor Emmanuel Caindec led the launching with the representative of the National Commission Senior Citizen (NCSC) Conrado Pono; President of Regional Federation of PWD's Joseph Jumantoc; LTO Cebu City District Office Chief Joel Maloloy-on and LTO 7 Chief Administrative Division Lovelien Dongallo.

“LTO-7 Malasakit Service Center is now open for services and is dedicated to the special sector in the community with the licensing services, Driver’s Education Center (DEC) and the upcoming New Registration Unit (NRU) are also located in the center,” Caindec said.

He revealed that there will be two DEC's that will be in the center--one will cater to all the sectors and the other one will cater to the sector with special needs and the second NRU in the region will also be in the same center.

Due to the ongoing minimum health protocols being implemented, the Malasakit Service Center can accommodate 20 to 30 individuals daily.  LTO 7 Malasakit Service Center is located at N. Bacalso Avenue Office beside Cebu South Bus Terminal.

The center has also set up a playroom for the children of the transacting mothers.

In August last year, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante approved the Malasakit Service Center in N. Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City, the first of its kind in the country. (Photos: LTO-7)
