MINERVA BC NEWMAN
TAGBILARAN CITY – The Province of Bohol has finally set up a satellite office of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for Boholanos' ease amid travel and financial hardships due to the pandemic, Gov. Arthur Yap announced on January 8 this year.
The PRC satellite office is located at the third floor of the Capitol building adjacent to Plaza Rizal in Tagbilaran City and it has been attending to clients even if it is still setting up its system and manpower at the Provincial Capitol Complex. It is headed by Professional Regulation Officer I Ginalyn Lozada, a Boholano herself from Baclayon town.
"Malipayon
(We are happy that PRC
heard the request of the Boholanos to set up its office here in the province so
that Boholanos need not travel to Cebu to process and renew their licenses.)
Yap said in his FB post.
Yap added that because of the great need for the PRC office here, Bohol immediately gave an ample space at the old Capitol for its satellite office and the province also assigned more local personnel to augment its staff for its daily operations.
Boholanos now don’t have to spend in and get hassled by going to the PRC Regional Office in Cebu or its satellite office in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental to process their professional licenses and other vital documents even including applications for board examinations.
According to Ven Arigo of the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) that the satellite office services include the processing of the renewal and release of PRC identification card, application for examination, and document certification and authentication.
Arigo added that it had its soft opening last December 21 and has since then entertained clients while still installing computer and internet system with the help of the Bohol Information Communications Technology Unit (BICTU) of the provincial government.
“The office can assist those who already
registered online last year for the renewal of their licenses so that their new
cards can be released and claimed right there,” Arigo said.
Lozada thanked governor Yap and Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos for providing immediate four support personnel, one driver and one utility worker whose salaries are all paid by the province.
Additional essential services will be provided once the computer and communication systems are fully done and support staff from the PRC itself are in place. There will be a formal ceremony on the establishment of the satellite office in the presence of the governor and other Bohol officials. (Photos: PRIMER/Ven Arigo)
