RDC-7 confers CCCI President as one of the outstanding COVID-19 volunteer in CV

 CEBU CITY – The Regional Development Council (RDC-7) in Central Visayas conferred the president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Felix Taguiam as one the Most Outstanding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Volunteer in Central Visayas on December 7 this year.

 According to the RDC-7 that Felix Taguiam was recognized for initiating the COVID-19 Pandemic Solidarity Fund of the CCCI to assist the medical and nonmedical frontliners and communities in Cebu through distribution of food packs, manufacturing of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and donation of COVID-19 essential supplies.

The search involves those who have volunteered and made significant contributions in addressing the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other individuals who were also recognized were teacher Remus MariƱa for initiating a donation drive for stranded teachers and students; and Jose Mari Gotiangco for leading the funding and innovation of improvised face shields and will represent Central Visayas in the national search.

The national search for the Most Outstanding COVID-19 volunteer will be awarded by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency before the year ends.
