Anjo World opens new attractions on its 3rd year anniversary

MINERVA BC NEWMAN

MINGLANILLA, Cebu—Anjo World Theme Park located in Minglanilla town opened its latest attractions at the FUNtastic ARENA on November 30 as part of its third-year anniversary celebration.

“The FUNtastic ARENA features rides that can accommodate guests of all ages, including kids. There will be an arcade for kids and another for adults. There are two major rides, one interactive ball games and an interactive educational component,” Anjo World president Chester Lim said during Wednesday’s unveiling event.

According to Anjo World head of sales, marketing and press relations, Cedric Reyes that guests’ feedbacks want more attractions for little kids thus the FUNtastic ARENA was conceptualized to cater to the kids and families.

It has an arcade type video gaming setting for children and adults, unlimited rides for kids and educational attractions that spark the senses of small children, Reyes said theme parks will never be complete without the arcade.

“We are also looking at the park not only as outdoor park but also an indoor park.  We were really looking for people to stay to refresh themselves and then we make it more interesting by adding more attractions at the indoor arena,” Lim added.

There are no additional charges for the new attractions and that ticket prices remain the same, Lim said that with no price increase in tickets this year, people will enjoy more as there are more amenities in place.

Lim disclosed that they would like to position Anjo World not only for its recreation activities but also a go-to place for food, games and party as Anjo World now upgraded its menu and now serving authentic Italian dishes.

Reyes pointed out that Anjo World is giving a more complete experience to all its guests with the outdoor rides, the arcade and the food and next year the Park will launch the e-card for more convenience to guests.

Reyes noted that the theme park has brighter prospects with the reopening of the economy and return to normal and the increasing number of guests coming to Anjo World as the park is now open daily starting last November 24, from 12 noon to 8 pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The theme park will also have extended hours starting December until New Year.

Reyes said, they decided to open the theme park daily due to the clamor especially from non-Cebuano residents who want to enjoy the park rides whichever day that they come for a visit to Cebu. He added that this is also timely because of the Yuletide season. “We are feeling the Christmas season better.”

As part of its anniversary celebration, Reyes said, they invited 300 orphans to visit and celebrate the theme park’s anniversary from November 28 to 30. Each day 100 orphans will enjoy Anjo World’s rides and games at the FUNtastic ARENA.

Guests who visit the theme park on November 30 will be have lots of fun while enjoying the music from the marching band, the mascot parade and fireworks.

Lim reiterated that Anjo World continues to ensure that rides are maintained regularly. “We have a third-party accredited engineer/auditor who check our rides every year although this is not part of government requirement. We want other people with other point of view to check our rides,” Lim said.

Anjo World makes sure that all rides are safe and properly maintained. It also has a staff that have certification as safety practitioner as required by the Department of Labor and Employment. “We don’t only train marshals, most of the supervisors also undergo training,” he said.

According to Reyes, Anjo World is doing self-regulation on ensuring the safety of rides. Anjo World is committed to provide and to make the park safe every day.  It is also up-to-date with the safety standards being members of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

Surfing is not just a sport.  It's a life-changing adventure so unique and addictive that it inspires the team behind Billabong to dream bigger dreams and build better gear for everyone to know the feeling too.

You can’t achieve this goal without protecting the playground we call home. To this end, Billabong is committed on a never-ending journey to minimize the footprint of the products and services they provide.

Billabong’s not done yet. There’s more work to be done and they’re making headway in bringing sustainable surf gear into every home and closet. And where better to keep it going than in Cebu?

Home to beautiful pocket islands and pristine beaches, Cebu is the perfect spot to lock into the feeling that Billabong is known for.  Billabong opens its doors at SM Cebu on October 8.  One can get awesome deals on essential swim and surf gear haul, and the best bundle promos to round up the Christmas checklist.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launches #LightTheWorld Giving Machines in Cebu

CEBU CITY -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints launched two vending machines in Cebu on November 25 for the “Light the World Giving Machines Initiative” and invited people everywhere to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and follow His teaching to share own light with others through the Light the World Giving Machines this Christmas season.

Elder and sister Steven and Susan Bangerter of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints led the unveiling of the Giving /vending machines, Friday at the Ayala Center Cebu at Level 1, Paseo Ciudad with some city officials, project beneficiaries and partners.

According to Bangerter, this year, more people than ever can participate as Giving Machines expand to 28 locations including the United States, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Guatemala, and the Philippines.

These popular Light the World Giving Machines are vending machines that offer a unique and memorable way to share light by serving and caring for others.  The machines contain items to buy such as food, hygiene kits, educational materials and resources, water treatment, emergency and repair kits, vitamins, eyeglasses, medical kits, gardening tools, and psychosocial support.

The Giving Machines in the country are now located at the Festival Mall Alabang, Filinvest Corporate City, Commerce Ave, Alabang, Muntinlupa City that was launched on November 17 while in Cebu, the machines are hosted at the Ayala Center Mall, near Oh Geroge!

People can now donate to the giving machines from the time of the launch until January 2 during mall hours.  Proceeds of the Giving Machines are given to chosen charity/beneficiaries.

Six local nonprofits will join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to care for and serve people in need. This year’s participants are: Caritas Manila, HERO Foundation, Inc., UNICEF Philippines while the Cebu counterpart has Cebu Caritas (special project of Caritas Manila), Feed the Children, Inc. and Mabuhay Deseret Foundation, Inc. as the beneficiaries.

As the Philippines expands to Cebu this year, so does the number of participating non-profit organizations. The Light the World giving machines started in 2018 in Manila and continued annually even during the pandemic with donations given directly by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to nonprofit organizations.

The Church covers all operational costs, ensuring that 100% of every donation goes to the charitable cause of your choice.

 The #LightTheWorld Initiative

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrates the birth and life of Jesus Christ through the #LightTheWorld initiative. The initiative asks people to follow the example of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, by caring for individuals one by one throughout the month of December and invites people to not only ponder but to also act on it.

In 2021, the #LightTheWorld Giving Machines in 10 locations raised more than $5.8 million for local and global charities. In Manila, due to the pandemic and local restrictions, direct donations were given to Caritas Manila and UNICEF-Phils with Php 500K each and HERO Foundation with Php 250K.

As part of the #LightTheWorld initiative, people have the chance to provide an instant act of service at special vending machines called Giving Machines that offer much-needed items for purchase from a variety of local and global charity partners.

#LightTheWorld Initiative enjoins everyone to share and post about the machines on social media accounts and channels to inspire people to give and help others. (Photos: MBCNewman
