CEBU CITY—The 8.9km Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) received recognition as one of excellent infrastructure projects globally and named as an Outstanding Project of the Year (Medium to Large) by the FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, held in Singapore in September, this year.
The FIDIC Project Awards puts the spotlight on the achievements of consulting engineering member firms and their clients across the globe. It underscores the significant impact and influence their infrastructures have on social, economic, and environmental quality of life around the world.
For the construction of the modern toll expressway, Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) awarded the design and build contract to Cebu Link Joint Venture (CLJV), a consortium of Spanish company Acciona Construccion S.A., and Filipino companies First Balfour, and D.M. Consunji Inc.
CCLEC also engaged the services of COWI A/S of Denmark, with the Philippines’ DCCD Engineering Corporation, to be the project’s technical advisor/owner’s engineer while Norconsult, a Norwegian consultancy firm, was also tapped as the project’s independent consultant.
