CEBU CITY – The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) conducted the rerun of Tax Accounting and Cliniquing Program to 24 business companies with 70 participants from February 23 to March 27 at CCCI- Francisco Benedicto Function Hall.
According to CCCI, the tax accounting clinic is composed of seven module comprehensive training program to capacitate and strengthen the Cebu business community on tax and accounting standards compliance.
The seven-module program featured expert resource speakers from various accounting and auditing firms with each module designed to provide participants with high-quality training on tax and accounting standards compliance.
The modules included Mind-setting for Owners and Decision Makers, Good Governance and Regulatory Compliance, Reporting Responsibilities, Taxation 101-Compliance Pitfalls and Opportunities, Payroll Preparation Workshop, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Determining Compliance Bottlenecks in Management, Planning, and Control, Finance and Accounting, and Taxation and Regulatory Compliance.
The program's resource speakers were industry experts and professionals, including Rey Calooy of RNC Marketing; Virgilio Espeleta of FAMCOR; Grant Cheng, CFA of Cebu Landmasters Inc.; Juanito Cubos of Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc,; Joen Ramas and Atty Kim Aranas of P&A Grant Thornton; Bernadette Absolor of PwC Isla Lipana & Co.; Jude Vincent Cruz and Mary Jone Desaca from KPMG R.G Manabat and Co; GJ Robin Cobosa, Athena Mae Luce and Atty Anne Margaret Momongan-Lim of SGV & Company; and representatives from the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Jasmin Espinosa and Atty Grethel Villarubia.
There were free consultations during sessions which were joined by PICPA Cebu Chapter members and volunteers, Past President Elmer Minerva of Minerva and Company, Atty. Joseph Ian Ty-Farma of TyFarma Audit Tax Consultancy and Atty Emmanuel Lim Tampos of Lim Tampos Law & Associates.
