MANDAUE CITY – The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) calls for donations and launches the “Pasilong Para sa Paradise sa Pasko” fund campaign to extend its full support to the Mandaue City Government's efforts to implement a temporary transition housing program for the estimated 700 families that lost their homes in a recent fire in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
MCCI Board of Director Beverly Dayanan, Chair
of the “Pasilong Para sa Paradise sa Pasko” Program said that with the Mandaue
City Government, MCCI aims to ensure that these displaced families will have at
least a temporary home this Christmas pending the construction of the National
Government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program.
“It will be such a joy for us to share the true meaning of Christmas by sharing our blessings to those in need and we appeal to your generous hearts to give a family a home for Christmas,” Dayanan stated.
“Pasilong” is Cebuano term for shelter. Aptly so, “Pasilong Para sa Paradise sa Pasko” aims to provide temporary transition housing for the displaced families through the generosity of donor companies, institutions, and individuals. The program will be implemented in four phases with the first phase of 100 homes targeted for turn-over to the beneficiaries within December 2022.
The estimated cost for each house structure is
Php70,000.00. Mandaue Chamber aims to
bridge and channel donations between the private sector and the Mandaue City
Government to expeditiously implement and complete the construction of 700
homes for the 2,500 victims of the fire-hit Sitio Paradise in Barangay Looc,
Mandaue City.
