MINERVA BC NEWMAN
CEBU CITY – More than 100 creatives and entrepreneurs from 27 companies across different industries from digital marketing, architecture, software development to fintech, outsourcing, sales and marketing, e-commerce, traditional micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and other startups explored new opportunities to empower this warm industry in a digital Marketing Conference in Cebu on May 30, dubbed as “DashCon 2022.”
Others new in the field want to learn more about social media and digital marketing strategies and platforms while freelance creators are interested in widening their horizons to connect to more businesses.
"We are building the future of work for digital
marketers - like our flagship DashoContent where we match brands to vetted
content creators. We are unleashing the power of tools plus humans to assist in
digital marketing, and as we build our product and our community, we want to
share our journey. This is where DashCon comes in,” Castro explained.
DashCon came out from a Content Creators Meetup simultaneously done in Manila and Cebu on May 14 where participants were able to finally ditch Zoom and geek about social media content face-to-face. They also talked about trends like non-fungible tokens (NFT) and the Metaverse and spent the rest of the event networking over pizza, Castro revealed.
DashCon 2022 was the first in-person digital marketing conference held in Cebu this year. Carlo Delantar, founding partner of Core Capital and Head of Circular Economy at Gobi Partners, gave the keynote speech on Ecommerce, Opportunities for MSMEs, and the Role of Digital Marketing.
The conference also featured local and national
speakers who shared their expertise in digital marketing with Janette Toral, a
multi-awarded e-commerce advocate, digital influencer, leadership coach, and
author of DigitalFilipino: An E-Commerce Guide for the eFilipino.
There were also panel discussions on apps and tools for MSMEs, brand storytelling and content creation, influencer marketing and creatorship, community and the gig economy, and growth marketing and data in digital marketing.
According to Castro, this conference (DashCon) brought together stakeholders to maximize marketing opportunities and allowed participants to gain insights on how to grow their business, learn from their peers, and build their professional network.
“This was our little gift for our community of fellow business owners and digital marketing professionals, a platform and venue for us to geek out about trends, tools, and tricks in this ever-changing field of digital marketing and we wanted them to find value at DashCon as we at ContentDash share our mission of empowering MSMEs and creators in Southeast Asia through content,” Castro added.
