CEBU CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cebu through its Negosyo Center distributed Negosyo Kits worth P6,000 each to 31 micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Mandaue City and mentored qualified applicants for Sugbo Negosyo program for Cebu’s district 1 in Talisay City on November 17 as part of its 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝗼𝗼𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝗼𝐠𝐫𝐚𝗺 - 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝗼𝐬𝐲𝗼 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐲𝗼 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 (𝐋𝐒𝐏-𝐍𝐒𝐁).
According to DTI-Cebu that the Livelihood Seeding Program is a direct material assistance for businesses affected by COVID-19 in response to the pandemic under the recovery/restart phase and assists MSMEs to restore and improve their businesses.The event was attended by 22 barangay officials, City Councilor of Mandaue City; Atty. Lizer, BPLO Chief of Mandaue City and Kristian Cabahug, Executive Director of Mandaue Investment Promotions Action Center (MIPAC).
In another development, on the same day, DTI assistant secretary and lead of the regional operations group, Asteria Caberte conducted a one-on-one mentoring session with the 10 Category A qualified applicants for the Sugbo Negosyo program from District 1 in Negosyo Center (NC) City of Talisay.
Caberte has committed that DTI with the Technical DTI staff and NC Business Counsellors per district will assist in the evaluation of applications and mentoring sessions under the program when it was launched in September this year.
“𝗦𝗨𝗚𝗕𝗢 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘆𝗼” is a microenterprise assistance program of the Cebu Provincial Government aimed to promote 𝗦ustainable, 𝗨plifment and 𝗚rowth through 𝗕usiness 𝗢pportunities to microentrepreneurs in the cities and municipalities of the Province of Cebu.
The 𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐍𝐂 𝐂𝗼𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝗼𝐫𝐬 also presented the
various DTI programs, services and provide info kits/materials to the
participants.
Meanwhile, the Consumer Protection Division of DTI Cebu also conducted an on-site inspection of Christmas Lights and Price Monitoring of Noche Buena Items in the 13 establishments in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.
The team inspected the Christmas Lights on the compliance to PS and ICC Marks to ensure that the products available in the market are certified and are safe to use especially during this Christmas season.
DTI Cebu also monitored the prices of Noche Buena Items with the recent Republication of the Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) of Noche Buena Products as of 31 October 2019 for 09 November 2020. (Photos: DTI-7)
