CEBU— The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Negros Island Region, through the DOST Negros Occidental Provincial Science and Technology Office, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, officially launched the Visayas Leg of HANDA PILIPINAS SA BAGONG PILIPINAS: Innovations in Climate and Disaster Resilience Nationwide Exposition 2025 in a Media Briefing on October 21 at The Negros Residences, Bacolod City.

The briefing gathered representatives from national and local government agencies, the media, and various stakeholders in science, technology, and innovation (STI) to provide an overview of the upcoming exposition—its goals, activities, and the significance of promoting STI-based solutions for disaster preparedness and climate resilience in the Visayas.

The HANDA PILIPINAS 2025 – Visayas Leg will take place on October 27–29, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City, with the theme “Padayon Visayas: STI for Resilient, Unified, and Sustainable Visayas.”

During the exposition, participants can expect engaging learning sessions, technology exhibits, and demonstrations featuring innovations that strengthen community resilience, disaster risk reduction, and environmental sustainability.

The event highlights technologies and initiatives from various DOST agencies and partners that support early warning systems, disaster recovery, and sustainable development.

By bringing together experts, innovators, and local government units, HANDA PILIPINAS 2025 aims to foster collaboration and empower Visayan communities to better prepare for and respond to climate and disaster challenges through the effective use of STI. (Photos: DOST7)
