ACMobility Honda Cars' ACRE Movement nears 10,000 trees milestone towards carbon neutrality by 2050

CEBU CITY – ACMobility Honda Cars’ ACRE Movement has now planted and grown nearly 9,500 trees as of August this year and hopes to cross the 10,000 trees landmark in less than two years with the tree planting activities and Carbon Forest Site Visit of some 38 officials from Honda Cars Philippines and its other dealership outlets in Cebu, Mandaue, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro City on August 9 at the Kan-Irag Nature Park, Trans-central Highway, Cebu City, towards carbon neutrality by 2050.

“We have allocated millions of pesos just for this ACRE Movement program and we’re happy to note that today, this month of August we’re hoping to cross the 2nd milestone of 10K trees.  The first milestone was the 5,000 trees grown in 2023 and we’re projecting in two years’ time to have 10,000 trees grown our Carbon Forest sites nationwide,” Steve Gingco, COO ACMobility Honda Cars said during the Carbon Forest Site visit and tree planting event.

Gingco bared that Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) has established five Carbon Forests located in Alaminos in Laguna, Kan-Irag in Cebu, two in Mindanao and one in El Nido Palawan and these are more than 100 hectares dedicated to forest program for carbon sequestration to capture or neutralize carbon emissions to the environment.

Gingco added that the Ayala Group, as a company has various business interests including automotive, transportation, logistics and others that emit carbon footprints and to neutralize that, the group has an aspiration on net zero carbon neutrality by year 2050 by establishing carbon forests through the ACRE Movement.

 One car one tree, Honda Cars innovative dealership program

Honda ACMobility, in partnership with Ayala Land Inc., has taken a significant step towards environmental conservation with its ACRE Movement: A Gift of Tree Program. Through this initiative, a tree will be planted for every vehicle purchased from dealerships in Makati, Pasig, Alabang, Shaw, Manila Bay, Bacoor, Cebu, Mandaue, Iloilo, Cagayan De Oro, and Negros Occidental, Bryan Enerio, ACMobility Honda Cars Cebu and VisMin branch manager bared.

Enerio said, the ACRE Movement initiative aims to redefine urban transportation and promoting sustainable mobility solutions, integrating advanced automotive technologies and eco-friendly practices to enhance the overall driving experience while minimizing environmental impact.

The AC Mobility Honda Cars ACRE Movement encompasses various facets of modern transportation, including electric vehicle (EV) adoption, smart city integration, and the development of green infrastructures. Honda Cars Cebu is committed to providing state-of-the-art electric vehicles that not only deliver superior performance but also significantly reduce carbon emissions. 

The Movement also wants to educate the public about the benefits of sustainable transportation through the conduct of workshops, seminars, and community events to raise awareness about the importance of reducing carbon footprints and embracing cleaner, greener mobility options, Enerio added.
