RMA News turns one

CEBU CITY --- RMANews.Net, the newest online digital news channel in Cebu turned one year old this year amid the challenges of the pandemic and coping with the new normal kind of journalism.

According to Robby Alugar, founder and president of RMA News that as it celebrates its first-year anniversary, RMA News continues to remain true to its mission and vision it set when it started on June 4, 2020 and at the height of the pandemic.


“The establishment of RMA News last year was timely since during the lockdown, people turned to digital news sources to increase awareness of what’s happening in the community,” Alugar said.

He added that RMA News has featured corporate news, food, entertainment, lifestyle, health, music and arts, people stories and various events and all that’s happening around town and within the region.

Alugar, in his anniversary message thanked all its clients who continue to trust and believe in what the team can offer. As the paper moves forward in this new normal, RMA News will continue to provide the public with reliable news on current events and happenings that people need to know.

RMA News.Net in its first year of publishing has proven its strength, determination and confidence in facing the various challenges in the new normal specifically in the delivery of accurate, balanced and latest news and information to the public.

Philippine Information Agency (PIA) regional director Fayette Rinen lauded and congratulated RMA News for its one-year anniversary.  She urged RMA News to remain steadfast in its obligation to inform, educate and communicate timely, relevant and accurate information that could empower people and make a difference in their lives.

“Conceived during a strict lockdown, nothing is more important than providing relevant information amidst the crisis and surviving a year later to continue its purpose to inform is nothing short of commendable,” Rinen said in her congratulatory message to RMA News.
