Baricuatro fully supports breast cancer awareness campaign

CEBU CITY— Cebu governor Pamela Baricuatro fully supports the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, highlighting the Capitol’s active role in promoting early detection and supporting survivors.

This commitment was borne out of the governor’s meeting with Mary Anne Alcordo Solomon, coordinator of ICanServe Foundation Cebu Link who visited Baricuatro, Tuesday. September 23.

Alcordo’s visit comes ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, a campaign to increase awareness and encourage early detection of the leading cancer affecting women worldwide.

The governor said she is deeply aware of the dangers of breast cancer and the importance of government programs that ensure early detection, timely treatment, and sustained support for patients and survivors.

ICanServe Foundation, Inc., a Philippine-based network of breast cancer survivors and volunteers, partners with local governments to develop breast cancer control programs. Its initiatives cover early detection, accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, survivorship care, palliative care, hospice care, and patient navigation.
