Childlink Learning Center launches its philanthropic office to raise P30M

CEBU CITY – The Childlink Learning Center & Childlink High School, Inc., in partnership with Spring Rain Global launched its Philanthropic Development Office (PDO) on October 19 to kick off its “30 Years for 30 Million” campaign to support its various educational and community initiatives.

“It is with hope that together, we can empower leaders and create a brighter tomorrow not just for Cebu, not just for the Philippines, but for the world,” Maria Theresa Tio, founder of Childlink, in her opening message, shared her vision for the school’s future to reinforce the school’s commitment to global-minded education.

Tio described the Philanthropic Development Office (PDO) as the driving force behind Childlink’s efforts to ensure education remains within reach for all deserving students. The office manages the “30 Years for 30 Million” campaign which seeks to raise P30 million by 2027, Childlink’s 30th anniversary year.

The campaign is designed to support key initiatives, including scholarships, after-school programs for children with special needs, and infrastructure development. One of the highlights of the initiative is the school’s efforts to empower the children of its own staff through its employee scholarship program, Tio bared.

She added that Childlink provides financial assistance to the children of its dedicated teachers and staff, ensuring that they too benefit from the school’s commitment to education. The PDO oversees scholarships funded by community partners and sponsors, further extending educational opportunities to students who might otherwise face financial barriers.

Tio also said that the after-school programs for children with special needs is a prominent component of the campaign where programs offer tailored support to help children with unique learning requirements for them to transition to mainstream education.

“By providing individualized assistance, the initiative ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their learning challenges,” Tio stated.

Part of the “30 Years for 30 Million” fundraising initiative is to allocate 60 percent of the funds to educational programs and 40 percent to support various other initiatives including after-school programs, infrastructure development, and community services.

For those who wish to support Childlink’s mission, there are several ways to get involved. Donations can be made to specific programs or general funds, while individuals and organizations are encouraged to sponsor scholars or partner with the school on community projects. Volunteers are also welcome to join in the school’s mission to create lasting change in both the educational and local communities.

The school’s vision for the future includes the construction of modern facilities, further expanding opportunities for student development and academic success. Childlink’s focus on holistic education goes beyond the classroom, extending to community-based services such as reading literacy programs in local barangays.

These efforts aim to improve literacy rates and foster a love for reading among children and adults alike, further enriching the local community.  Beyond its educational programs, Childlink is committed to supporting its workforce.

The school also places a strong emphasis on professional development for its educators, with a variety of training and wellness programs aimed at enhancing job satisfaction and performance.

Investments in health and wellness programs help staff members manage stress, achieve a better work-life balance, and stay motivated to provide top-tier education.

“We know that education is the equalizer of poverty. If a child is well-educated and grows up with the right values, the chances of success are greatly increased. Education is the key to sustaining a bright future for those who need it most,” Philip Tan, President and CEO of Wellmade Global Holdings Inc., in his keynote address aptly described the profound importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty.
