CCCI bridges gap between gov’t policy, private sector actions for a world-class Cebu

CEBU CITY – “The desire of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is to be the engine of Cebu’s business growth towards global competitiveness that is simply world-class enterprises, a world-class business community and a world-class people with the LEAD Agenda as a positioning statement for bridging the gap between government policy and private sector actions for a world-class Cebu.”

 Jay Yuvallos, CCCI president shared this vision in a side interview with some media and content creators during its 3rd General Membership Meeting (GMM), Recognition, Induction of New Members and Launching of Invest Cebu Brand, Membership Privilege Card, CCCI App/Chamber Time is Cebu On Time advocacy campaigns on August 27 at the bai hotel Cebu in Mandaue City.

 Yuvallos said that that it’s all about business and investment and the Chamber would like to see Cebu enterprises to be updated, globally competitive, to see what is out there, new trends and developments in terms of products and services.

The Chamber is changing the narratives on the importance of the intersection between policy, which is government and the private sector actions on specific and crucial issues of Cebu’s business growth and its sustainability.

“We are bringing these narratives to the consciousness of everyone so that policy and business will intersect making the Chamber to become this platform for all sectors to get involved and find the “Invest Cebu. Prosper in Paradise” brand as a battle cry for making Cebu the hub of business and investments for the global market,” Yuvallos added.

CCCI officially launches invest Cebu branding, other advocacy campaigns

In the same event on August 27, the CCCI officially launched the “Invest Cebu. Prosper in Paradise” brand and three other advocacy campaigns including the launching of the Membership Privilege Card, CCCI App and the Chamber Time is Cebu On Time.

Attended by over 200 representatives from various member companies, business leaders, partners from consular corps, line agencies, NGOs and the media, the Invest Cebu brand launch marked a significant step toward the positioning of Cebu as a premier destination in the Asia Pacific for both local and international investors. 

“Invest Cebu. Prosper in Paradise” aims to capitalize on Cebu's unique strengths, including its strategic location, robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and vibrant culture, to attract investors and boost economic activity in the region. Through the branding initiative, CCCI seeks to showcase Cebu as an ideal location for investments in various sectors, from technology and manufacturing to tourism,” Yuvallos said.

To strengthen CCCI’s engagement with its members and the broader business community, the Chamber unveiled a new membership card that provides exclusive benefits, a mobile app to facilitate access to chamber services and updates, and the “Chamber Time is Cebu on Time” to improve communication and coordination among its members.

These initiatives reflect the CCCI’s commitment to innovation and growth, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for economic development in Cebu.

Meanwhile, Cebu Landmasters Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jose Soberano III, the guest speaker during the event, discussed the company’s environmental, social, and governance strategy.

 
The event also recognized CCCI members who have been with the Chamber for the last five and 10 years.  The Chamber also inducted new members to the CCCI Family with Engr. Albert Uy, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) regional governor for Central Visayas as the inducting officer while Melanie Ng, PCCI area Vice President also officiated the induction of the board of trustees of the CCCI-Bogo City Chapter.
