CEBU CITY – Access to all health records online, find doctors, book appointments, online consultations, request for medicate certificates, these and more can now be streamlined by SugboDoc Technologies, Inc. (SugboDoc), a global cloud Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform and digital healthcare solutions provider for patients, healthcare providers and health organizations, designed to enhance patient care and streamline facility operations.
“Because I really started at healthcare, and I empathize a lot, being a patient myself and for many patients having problems with access to these healthcare processes. Confronted with long queues for doctor consultations, paper-based records, and siloed information within healthcare facilities, I recognized an opportunity to address these challenges and improve healthcare efficiency and accessibility,” Ryan Michael Gelig, founder and CEO of SugboDoc revealed.
Gelig, has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a Master's degree in Management of Technology from the National University of Singapore.
After studying and working in Singapore for 12 years, seven of which were spent leading teams in developing scalable healthcare software platforms for long-term care, telehealth, home care, day care, ambulatory care, and hospital settings across the Asia Pacific region, he returned to Cebu to start a software development studio and manage the care of his retiring parents.
Thus, led him to found SugboDoc Technologies, Inc., leveraging his expertise in healthcare IT to develop innovative solutions, with this cutting-edge platform designed to enhance healthcare delivery by providing seamless access to patient records and optimizing clinic operations across various healthcare settings.
Launching SugboDoc eClinic, its key features
In a press conference on July 30 at the Golden Prince Hotel & Suites in Cebu City, Gelig and his team also unveiled its SugboDoc eClinic, an Online or Cloud Clinic Software for Doctors and Specialists and announced new product lines for a more Comprehensive Healthcare Management.
It also supports file uploads, online consultations, and invoicing, streamlining clinic operations and improving patient care. It has Patient-Centric Innovations. SugboDoc eClinic stands out by offering patients an aggregated view of their health records across all visited healthcare facilities.
This longitudinal health profile ensures a comprehensive understanding of their medical history. Patients can easily book appointments with any doctor SugboDoc or specialist on the platform and grant their care team access to their complete health records, enhancing coordinated care and leading to better diagnoses and treatments, Gelig explained.
Patients can register their accounts for free through sugbodoc.com using email, mobile, Facebook, or Google accounts. For online consultations, they pay a PHP100 convenience fee plus the doctor's consultation fee, with payments accepted via credit card, Globe, or PayMaya.
Additionally, patients can request a medical certificate as part of their consultation and access it through their patient account. They can also view their bills online, along with receiving clear, printed prescriptions or electronic versions available through their patient accounts, addressing concerns about illegible handwriting, Gelig added.
According to Gelig, the SugboDoc eClinic has global accessibility because it is also designed to cater not only to Filipinos but also to patients anywhere in the world. Whether traveling or working abroad, users can access healthcare providers and manage their health records through SugboDoc's platform, ensuring continuity of care regardless of location.

At the same press conference, SugboDoc eClinic doctor users shared their success stories from operating their clinics and how SugboDoc simplifies access to digital patient records from any location and facilitates medication prescriptions with a database of over 30,000 FDA-approved drugs.

Gelig shared that doctors praised the platform for streamlining prescription renewals, eliminating the need for manual re-entry of medication details. The platform's features, including drafting referral documents, medical certificates, and creating customizable templates, have significantly saved time and improved efficiency.
Patients receive appointment updates via SMS and email, and doctors' secretaries have reduced paperwork by managing all patient registration online through SugboDoc. Additionally, patients benefit from clear, printed prescriptions or electronic versions available through their accounts and can view their bills online, addressing concerns about illegible handwriting.
