MPTC, #MPTDriveHub launch mobility app for CCLEX motorists, commuters

 MINERVA BC NEWMAN

CEBU CITY – The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) and MPT DriveHub launched in Cebu City a mobility app for motorists and commuters of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) for a more fun and convenient travel.

Donald Saurombe, Asst. Vice President of Operations and Marketing at MPT Mobility presented the features and developments of #MPTDriveHub app during the media launch and roundtable discussion of the #DriveHub app at Radisson Blu on July 13.

Saurombe described the #MPTDriveHub app as an integrated one-stop motoring companion and other travel-related services with core functions that include registration, dashboard, RFID Balance inquiry and RFID Reloading, Toll Fee Matrix and Hotline.

He explained that with the #MPTDriveHub app the motorists can tap and track their RFID account, calculate toll fees, get traffic updates at the CCLEX and this app is already available at AppStore and Google Play.

“Unlike other platforms which only specialize in navigation, #MPTDriveHub is an integrated mobile app that you will only need for all your mobility requirements,” he said.

MPT DriveHub for future development will provide the MPT DriveHub and Wallet, a single mobile app customer interface and Wallet for MPTC that enables it to interface and expand its services and products and digital presence for all commuters, Saurombe explained.

Rodrigo Franco, President of MPT Mobility and CEO of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) said, the current features are just some of many mobility solutions MPTC is excited to offer to Cebuanos.

“We’re a mobile culture overall; it is only right to do as much as we can to improve and enhance the Pinoy travelling experience.  While we anticipate some hesitation from the public to make the technological switch, we believe that this new system will greatly improve not just drives, but lives,” Franco added.

Allan Alfon, President and General Manager of Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) on the other hand said that the partnership is important because mobility is equally important.  He acknowledged that CCLEX itself is not just a way to get from one place to another, but also a testament to how much Cebu has grown.

“It is a mark of our progress, in a similar way, that #MPTDriveHub is a mark of how driving and our needs around it have changed, but we look forward to seeing it upgrade the ride and customer experience,” he added.

With the radio-frequency identification (RFID) card, reloading and account management via the app are now easier to manage in real time. Drivers and motorists can be assured of stress-free rides, on top of this more convenient customer experience.

With the MPT DriveHub, it has also taken into consideration the major hurdle that those on the road face with the RFID system: The inability to check how much is left and whether you need to reload.  With the app, motorists not only load and reload faster and in real-time, but they can also track balances and spending history with just a few taps.

MPT DriveHub app presents itself as the ultimate driving partner for planning, managing, and ultimately, learning to enjoy driving and the journey again. It is the new driving partner of motorists and commuters especially when driving along the CCLEX, an engineering marvel and the longest bridge in the country today.
