CEBU CITY—Globe has ramped up its network rollout to remain the most consistent mobile network in the 2nd quarter of 2021 with a score of 75.98 against 70.43 in the first quarter of 2021, according to Ernest Cu, Globe president and CEO in a virtual Globe financial media briefing, Monday, August 9.
Cu bared that Globe VoLTE is now available to postpaid customers in 94 percent of all towns in the country. The company posted mobile data traffic of 1,761 petabytes in the first half of 2021, a 59 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Globe outperformed competition which reported 1,579 petabytes, clearly showing customers prefer to use the Globe network for mobile internet services as it has installed some 600,000 high-speed broadband lines as of the first half of 2021, Cu added.
Cu said that Globe is committed to deepen its relationship with its customers with services that enrich their lives and continue to have relevant offers along with a markedly improved network experience hitting the customers’ sweet spot.
As of June 2021, Cu revealed that Globe has built 641 new cell towers, completed and upgraded 8,175 mobile sites as part of its continued network modernization efforts. The new cell sites were built in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Laguna, Iloilo, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga.
Globe was also able to complete its network expansion in Pangasinan, Misamis Oriental, Nueva Ecija, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac and Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Siquijor and Guimaras, Cu said.
