CCCI lauds Cebu MICE Alliance for boosting Cebu’s global events competitiveness

CEBU-- The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) lauded the Cebu MICE Alliance led by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Managing Director and Cebu M.I.C.E. President Cleofe Albiso with a Special Citation of Recognition for its significant role in promoting Cebu on the global map as a top destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

The Cebu MICE Alliance receive the recognition at the CCCI’s Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night, November 24 at the Waterfront Hotel Cebu with the theme, “Celebrating Success: A Tribute to Business Icons.”

At the center of this achievement is the first-ever Cebu MICE Guidebook, a project spearheaded by the Alliance and proudly supported by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, Belmont Hotel Mactan, and Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown. Launched during the MICE Tourism Forum on June 26, 2025, at SM Seaside Skyhall, the guidebook showcases Cebu’s growth as an international events hub, featuring its world-class venues, hotels, cultural attractions, and thriving business landscape.

This recognition reflects Megaworld Hotels & Resorts’ ongoing commitment to uplifting Cebu’s tourism and MICE sectors. Under Ms. Albiso’s leadership, the hotel group has continued to champion collaborations that benefit the local economy and attract more global events to the region.

Looking ahead, the Cebu MICE Alliance, with Megaworld Hotels & Resorts and its industry partners, aims to further enhance Cebu’s visibility, develop more strategic initiatives, and support efforts that bring in more international events.

These efforts are further strengthened by upcoming developments in the region, including the anticipated opening of the Mactan Expo at The Mactan Newtown, which is set to host the ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2026. With continued collaboration, Cebu is poised to become one of Asia’s most exciting and competitive destinations for world-class gatherings. (Photos: CCCI)
