CEBU CITY—Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro expressed her full support and assistance to Batang Pinoy Cebu Province delegation that is expected to compete at the upcoming Batang Pinoy 2025 in General Santos City on October 25 to 31, this year.
Baricuatro was saddened to know that for six years the Batang Pinoy Cebu delegation has represented the Province in that sport category without any aid or assistance from the province. She promised a provincial reward for those who would go home with gold medals.
“I know you will compete in Batang Pinoy in General Santos, but I know that you are going there like Batang Cebu. Do your best and make Cebu proud. The Cebu Provincial Government fully supports the delegation,” the governor said and wished all the athletes the best of luck.
This elicited a wild applause and excitement from the delegation composted of athletes, coaches, and teachers during the greet and meet with Baricuatro on September 17 at the Capitol.
The Batang Pinoy Cebu delegation is scheduled to leave for the sports competition on October 21. The athletes, 12 to 17 years old are to compete in 10 events including arnis, badminton, basketball, chess, karatedo, futsal, sepak takraw, beach volleyball, dance sports, and for the first time, gymnastics.
Glenda Tatuy, Batang Pinoy Cebu head of delegation expressed her gratitude, sharing that for the first time in six years, the Cebu Province delegation will compete wearing uniforms of a single color, fostering unity and team spirit. “We will showcase our talents and we will represent Cebu with pride,” Tatuy added.
With full support of the Capitol, the Batang Pinoy Cebu Province delegation, Tatuy is confident and very optimistic that the Batang Pinoy Cebu delegation will compete with even greater pride, determination, and honor as they represent Cebu in this prestigious national sporting event.

athletes to showcase their best talents and sporting skills and come home with
